Make a Difference
We want to make a positive impact in the world. The best way that we know how to do that is to LEND a hand (or a box!) to those who are already helping. With that in mind, Lend A Box® donates a portion of our profits and the use of our boxes to local charities. We also collect non-perishable food items from our clients and deliver them to local food banks.
Environmental responsibility is also important . We help the environment by using 100% recyclable plastic to make our boxes. That’s cool because we use our boxes hundreds of times before regrinding them into new boxes. In contrast, cardboard boxes are typically used once or twice in their lifetime before ending up in a landfill.
Do you know what’s even cooler? Sometimes plastic is better than cardboard for the environment (we were surprised, too, when we first found out). Check out these stats: producing one ton of cardboard requires 17 trees, 79 gallons of oil, 7,000 gallons of water, and 42,000 kilowatts of energy. Conversely, creating plastic boxes generates 95% less total solid waste, requires 39% less energy, and generates 29% less total greenhouse gas emissions. If you want to know more about why LAB boxes are a good choice for the environment, check out our FAQs.
Finally, we are very proud to say that we’ve earned a Green America Certified Business Seal by demonstrating a business-wide culture of social and environmental responsibility. It’s nice to have someone recognize our efforts to build Lend A Box® into a company we can be proud of!
